The Mexican War Streets Society will hold its annual Board elections at the general membership meeting at 7 pm on Tuesday, November 18 at the Unitarian Church. Members will also be asked to vote on the contract renewal of Leslie Vincen, our part-time staff person. Positions on the Board include the following:

Vice President Street Trees Project Chair
Secretary Program Chair
Treasurer Membership Chair
Historic Preservation Chair Safe Streets Liaison
House Tour Chair(s) Community Gardens Chair
Although a number of incumbents decide to run for their seat again each year, the Board has a policy of making no official endorsements and welcomes nominations of current MWSS members. Please note, one must be a member for three months before being eligible to run for the Board. If you are interested in running, please contact the Board secretary, Rebecca Grazier at rebecca.grazier@pnc.com, or make a nomination from the floor at the November 18th general membership meeting. Each person running will have a chance to briefly address the membership before voting.

Please join us for seasonal refreshments and festivities at the MWSS annual Holiday Party, held at the elegant, newly restored home of Eric French at 1237 Monterey Street. (No stiletto heels, please.) The MWSS will furnish roast turkey, baked ham, beverages and sheet cake. Please come with a side dish to share and canned goods or nonperishable food items for the North Side Cooperative Ministry food pantry. Members are free and non-members pay $6. This is a great opportunity to renew your 2009 membership dues – a bargain at only $12 per year!
