The annual CNNC Summer Street Festival will be held on Sunday, July 19 from 4 until 8 pm. (Rain date is set for Monday, July 20). This is a great evening of picnic food, side dishes and soft drinks, plus plenty of activities for the kids all evening. Folks interested in helping to set up, take down or run the event, please contact David McMunn at 412-231-1316 or LTEMcMunn@msn.com. We need grills and grill operators to serve up hamburgers and hot dogs. Please bring a dish to share. The Pfaffman Associates will show the Central Northside Community Plan--to date. The new manager of the Allegheny Branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh will be there to introduce himself and to shed more light on the upcoming events and services of our new local library. Our next neighborhood CleanUp Days will be Saturday July 11 and August 1, 2009 at 10 am. Volunteers are asked to meet at Mechanic’s Retreat Park, located on the corner of Buena Vista Street and Jacksonia Street to clean up litter throughout the neighborhood and keep our gardens looking beautiful. Coffee and breakfast treats will be provided along with gloves and bags. If you can give 15 minutes or a couple of hours, we can use you because even 15 minutes can make a noticeable impact.
