51st Annual Mexican War streets house & garden tour

The Mexican War Streets Society continues to build upon its mission of preserving and promoting the historic significance of our neighborhood.  Each year we uphold our rich tradition of producing the most established House and Garden Tour in the city of Pittsburgh.

We are proud to announce that our 51st Annual House and Garden Tour will take place on Sunday, September 17, 2023 from 11 am – 5 pm, and will present beautifully restored homes, as well as private and community gardens.

Our tour is never cancelled and always goes on—rain or shine!

Tickets

Tickets are $30 per person and will be sold ONLINE ONLY.

Please note: There will be no tickets sold at the door on tour day.

All tickets will be picked up at our Will-Call Booth located at:
604 West North Ave
Pittsburgh, PA 15212

on the day of the event. We do not mail any tickets nor do you have to print any tickets at home to attentd. All tickets will be picked up at our headquarters booth on the day of the event.

What is the timeframe?

This event runs from 11am - 5:00pm and usually takes about 3 hours to visit all houses.

What happens in case of rain?

This event is Rain or Shine, no cancellations and no refunds available if it rains.

Guided or Self-Guided?

This tour is a Self-Guided Tour. You will pick up your tickets at our Welcome Booth located at 604 West North Avenue at the Inn on The Mexican War Streets (which is Stop #1). Your tour booklet includes a map of each house on tour, labeled by number, amongst other points of interests in the neighborhood.

Where is parking for this event?

Parking is any available street parking in the neighborhood + surrounding areas. There will be 3 parking lots available to park in, on a First Come First Serve basis:

  • Parking Lot #1- Corner of Brighton Road & Jacksonia Street (across from Rite Aid/Dollar Tree)

  • Parking Lot #2- Sherman Ave Parking Lot (1201 Sherman Ave). Entrance is located between Wolfrum Street & Greeves Way

  • Parking Lot #3: Church Parking Lot (1204 Buena Vista Street)

Will there be bathrooms available?

Restrooms will be located across the street From Mechanic’s Retreat Garden at the corner of Buena Vista Street & Jacksonia Street where vendors will be set up.
