We hold membership meetings every two months. Please join us to learn about our latest projects, sign up for volunteer opportunities, find out about our upcoming events, and meet new and old friends!

Our next meeting will be Wednesday, April 17, 7pm, at Alphabet City, 40 W. North Avenue, Pittsburgh.

The MWSS and the Allegheny City Central Association also will jointly host members of Rail Pollution Protection Pittsburgh (RP3) for a presentation on the Norfolk Southern Pittsburgh Vertical Clearance Project (PVCP). Please join us on Monday, April 22, 7pm-9pm, at Alphabet City to learn more about how this project will affect us all.

The presentation is titled "Norfolk Southern - Dirty, Dangerous, and In Your Backyard" and will provide comprehensive information about the PVCP including the health impact of black carbon diesel pollution on those living within the high risk zone, and the dangers of running double-stacked trains alongside oil cars through densely populated city neighborhoods.

RP3 will also cover the railroad’s involvement in the expansion of the petrochemical industry, and how to use cameras/monitors to gather baseline information. Here is a flyer with more information--please send to your family and friends who may be affected!

See RP3's new website for more details, and follow them on Twitter at @NoRailPollution and on Facebook

Hope to see you there!
